The 2026 World Juniors Ice Hockey Championships are currently taking place in Minneapolis, Minnesota, pitting the best U20 national hockey teams in the world against each other. The Spartans are featured heavily throughout the tournament.

MSU star forward Porter Martone was given the captain’s ‘C’ for team Canada in these games, serving as the Canadian captain. In the opening game of the tournament against the Czech Republic, Martone made waves.

After scoring an empty net goal to seal the win for the Canadians, the ensuing celebration from Martone sparked tensions between the two teams.

There is no secret amongst MSU fans that Martone will mix it up and get down and dirty, and he is showing it on the national stage.
