Team Canada finally registered Detroit prospect Carter Bear (13th, 2025) at the World Junior Championship and he did what he could with a limited role in the team’s 9-1 win against Denmark.

Bear played a team-low six minutes and 32 seconds, and managed no points, but four shots on net. Only top Canadian players Michael Misa and Gavin McKenna had more shots than Bear.

Meanwhile, Red Wings rugged prospect Eddie Genborg (44th, 2025) generated two assists in Sweden’s 8-1 triumph over Germany.  He boasts three assists in three games. His plus-minus is plus-four.

Three Detroit prospects were involved in USA’s 6-5 win against Slovakia.  Michal Pradel (75th, 2025) was in goal for Slovakia, playing reasonably well (35 saves) for a goalie who gave up six goals. Slovakia’s Michal Svrcek (119th, 2025) scored in the game and had two shots on goal.

NCAA scoring leader Max Plante (47th, 2024) saw his ice time cut to 10:17 in this game. He had no points, and two shots on goal. He was minus-one.
