Harwood 64, U-32 49

One player scored over 20 points and another had a double-double for Harwood in a win over U-32 on Saturday. 

Senior and co-captain Maddie Grace Ryley scored 25 points to lead all scorers for the Highlanders, who move to 3-1 with the win. 

Fellow senior and co-captain Roanha Chalmers tallied 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the double-double. Sophomore Adelaide Chalmers chipped in with nine points for the Highlanders, and freshman Liv Kielch added seven points and 13 rebounds. 

Harwood’s game tonight against Lyndon Institute has been canceled due to illness.

BOYS HOCKEY

Harwood 8, Rutland 3

Harwood scored six times in the second period to gain a win over Rutland on Saturday in high school boys ice hockey. 

Senior Eli Herrington and junior Griffin Nelson each had two goals apiece for the Highlanders, who move to 3-0 with the win. 

Seniors Milo Lavit, Luke Lacroix and Owen Farr and sophomore Cooper Browe each added a goal for Harwood.

Goalie Andrew Achilles, a junior, made 16 saves to earn the win. 

Harwood faces Spaulding today, Tuesday, Dec. 30, at 5 p.m. at home at the Waterbury Ice Center.

Girls Hockey was scheduled to play U-32 at a Middlebury tournament on Tuesday.

Girls Basketball travels to North Country Friday; JV at 5 p.m., varsity at 6:30 p.m.

Saturday: Harwood Wrestling at Mt. Abe at 10 a.m. Girls Hockey hosts Rice at the Ice Venter at 5 p.m. Boys Hockey faces Burr & Burton on the road at 5 p.m.
