Panthers winger Matthew Tkachuk is attempting to get in the heads of the Maple Leafs as the two teams get set to meet in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. As the Panthers and Leafs get set to square off in Game 7 of their second round series of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Maple Leafs fans likely didn’t need another reason to dislike agitator Matthew Tkachuk.

However, they have one anyway, as Tkachuk has decided to take multiple shots at the Maple Leafs while speaking with reporters in Toronto on Sunday.

While speaking about the importance of the game, Tkachuk took a jab at the Leafs’ previous attempts to close out a series in Game 7, saying they need to bring it all or they shouldn’t be there.

Apparently not satisfied with the one shot, Tkachuk added that he believes the Panthers are built for Game 7 situations, while the Toronto Maple Leafs are not. These are the types of statements that should light a fire under the Leafs, and an excellent chance for the home team to use this as “bulletin board material” for what will be the biggest game of their careers so far for several members of the team.
