SALT LAKE CITY – Has Utah Mammoth captain Clayton Keller done enough to earn a spot on Team USA’s 25-player roster for the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games?

Team USA’s final roster is expected to be announced later this week, but Keller’s not assured yet.

Despite the uncertainty, ESPN’s Emily Kaplan and The Athletic’s Michael Russo are both projecting the 27-year-old right-winger to make the cut.

“I have bigger places to go,” the Utah Mammoth captain told NHL.com writer Dan Rosen in October when asked about his aspirations to don the red, white, and blue in the Olympics.

Keller scored three goals and added seven assists for the United States in the 2025 IIHF Men’s World Championship.

Clayton Keller is projected to make Team USA Olympic cut

A 2016 first-round pick of the Arizona Coyotes, Keller was named captain when the franchise relocated to Salt Lake City, Utah, before the 2024-25 season.

His leadership was on full display in the club’s inaugural season, with Keller notching a career-high 60 assists to go with 30 goals. 90 points topped his previous career-high of 86 set in 2022-23.

I’m projecting that Clayton Keller will be the last player selected for USA’s Olympic roster.

I understand his production is down compared to last season, but it would be unwise to overlook his entire body of work over the last 15 months:

The Missouri native has 12 goals and 21 assists through 40 games with Utah this season.

Keller is under contract with Utah through the 2027-28 season.
