The Penguins traded forward Phil Tomasino to the Flyers for left-handed defenseman Egor Zamula. Zamula will report to Wilkes-Barre.

Zamula, 25, is a sixth-year pro who has spent his entire career so far in the Flyers’ organization. He skated in 13 games with the Flyers this season, recording one assist and a plus-4 rating. He had two assists and was a minus-3 in three AHL games with Lehigh Valley.

Zamula spent the last two full seasons in the NHL, recording three goals, 12 assists and a minus-14 rating in 63 games last season and five goals, 16 assists and a plus-3 rating in 66 games in 2023-24. 

Zamula is in the final year of a two-year contract that carries a $1.7 million cap hit. He’ll be a restricted free agent this summer.

Tomasino, 24, started the season in Pittsburgh and had one assist in nine games before being waived. He had five goals and 10 assists in 14 games with Wilkes-Barre after the trade.
