St. Louis Blues forward Zach Dean has been cleared by the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program, the team announced. He will return to active status with the organization.
Dean, 22, has been assigned to the Springfield Thunderbirds of the American Hockey League and will report to the team on Friday.
The Grand Prairie, Alta., native has appeared in nine NHL games with the Blues, all coming during the 2023-24 season. Dean has also appeared in 60 career AHL games with the Thunderbirds, scoring 10 goals and 18 points.
He was acquired from the Vegas Golden Knights on Feb. 26, 2023, in exchange for forward Ivan Barbashev.
Dean was originally selected 30th overall by the Golden Knights in the 2021 NHL Draft.
