The Vancouver Canucks are in the process of redefining their identity, and part of it is meshing the newcomers to the team and the veterans, Zeev Buium and Evander Kane are taking part through a wager for the World Juniors, Buium being American and Kane Canadian.

Buium was brought over from the Quinn Hughes blockbuster trade to the Minnesota Wild, the 20 year old defensemen carries a lot of pressure to be a top performer in the next few years.

“Buium has some big shoes to fill in Vancouver with a comparison like that, but if his two seasons at the University of Denver are any indication, he’s going to be a really good player for the Canucks for a very long time, something that must have Patrik Allvin & Jim Rutherford grinning from ear to ear.”-Jaxon

Zeev Buium and Evander Kane have a fun way to get acquainted.

While Evander Kane might not be the typical role model for the next generation, he is connecting to his younger teammates through one of his favourite activities…betting. Him and Buium have wagered on the World Juniors and who will win, if Canada wins Buium will have to wear a Canadian tracksuit and vice versa for Kane if the Americans win.

Evanders never seen a bet he didn’t like

The Canucks hope Buium turns into a star in just a few short years. The young defensemen shows a ton of promise as defensemen who can create a lot of offensive opportunities, and he showed that at the University of Denver.

Kane on the other hand has been in the rumour mill almost all season, as he has underperformed since joining the Canucks, the team may be looking to move him to a contender at the Trade Deadline, as he can still contribute with players that drive the play around him. Either way it may not be the most traditional method, but it’s good to see the chemistry being built off the ice for the Canucks.
