We’ve just learned some good news, straight from the main person involved, regarding Montreal Canadiens forward Juraj Slafkovsky.
An anecdote about Juraj Slafkovsky that is quite unusual.
In a clip currently making the rounds, it’s reported that Slafkovsky was involved in a car accident while on his way to the first home game of the season.
Since then, Ivan Demidov has reportedly been regularly helping him by driving him to the Bell Centre. The story doesn’t say why, however. Is Slafkovsky’s car still in the shop? Does he simply not want to drive for the time being?
In any case, know that Ivan Demidov has essentially been his personal chauffeur for the past few months.

What’s certain is that Slafkovsky is already a pillar despite being just 21 years old. This season, he has 32 points in 42 games, and his status is clear: he’s under contract for the long term, with an eight-year deal worth $60.8M.
As we can see in the video, he really seems to love Montreal. On the other side, Demidov is no longer just “the kid” people talked about at the draft. When a guy like him takes the time to look out for a teammate, it says a lot about the chemistry that’s developing.
