The Columbus Blue Jackets have named Laurence Gilman vice president of hockey operations, the team announced Tuesday morning.

He will assist Waddell in all aspects of hockey operations, according to the club.

Gilman most recently spent six seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs organization from 2018 to 2024. He’s also worked for the Winnipeg Jets/Arizona Coyotes franchise and the Vancouver Canucks.

“I have known Laurence for many years, and I am very excited to welcome him to the Columbus Blue Jackets,” said Blue Jackets team president Don Waddell in a news release.

“He is extremely knowledgeable about all facets of team and league operations, and his experience and personality will be a great addition to our hockey operations staff.”

“I’m very excited to join the Blue Jackets and want to thank Don for the opportunity,” said Gilman in the same release. “Columbus is a terrific market with great fans, and I look forward to working with everyone there and doing everything I can to help this team have success on the ice.”

The Blue Jackets head into play Tuesday 18-16-7 with 43 points in 41 games this season.
