Gabriel Landeskog and Devon Toews are both out week-to-week, according to Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar.
The update came in Tampa Bay, where Bednar told reporters that Landeskog will miss “some weeks” with an upper-body injury. Bednar also noted that it’s too early to rule out the Olympics for the Swedish forward.
It also sounds like Devon Toews could be back within a couple of weeks. Toews, who sustained his upper-body injury in Carolina on Saturday, is expected back before Landeskog.
The Avs close out their three-game road trip against the Lightning on Tuesday evening. Both Landeskog and Toews will miss their first game of the season.
Landeskog has seven goals and 22 points at the midpoint of the season, while Toews has a goal and 13 points. Colorado is 31-3-7 ahead of a matchup with the Eastern Conference powerhouse.

He said Devon Toews is week-to-week. Best-case scenario for him might be two weeks. He’s expected back before Landeskog, though.
