Toronto Maple Leafs fans should expect to see their team rocking a new jersey for the 2026-27 season.

While several teams have three jerseys this season, that isn’t the case for the Maple Leafs, who instead simply rock their standard blue sweaters at home, while wearing their standard whites on the road. That, however, is expected to change.

There were reports last month that the NHL is planning on releasing a league-wide jersey program for the 2026-27 season. The program is believed to mimic the NBA’s City Edition campaign.

Earlier this month, a supposed leaker provided details on what fans should expect from these jerseys. The details, circulated on Reddit, include the primary colour of every jersey, which, for the Leafs, is said to be black.

The user who shared this info claims to be a hockey retailer working in the US. They also said that this is part of the NHL’s “HTR” jersey program. Interestingly enough, Fanatics has already filed a trademark for the “Hometown Remix” phrase, prompting speculation that this leak could be legitimate. 

Though they won’t wear them this season, a black alternate jersey isn’t anything new for the Leafs. The prior four seasons saw them rock a slick black uniform as their third jersey, one which fans seemed quite happy with. Whether these new uniforms will look at all similar remains to be seen.

According to the individual who leaked this info, the jerseys are expected to cost USD$230 if you want a namebar on the back. For those who are fine with a blank jersey, the cost is $200 USD.
