The Edmonton Oilers saw some progress from goaltender Tristan Jarry ahead of their matchup with the Nashville Predators.
NHL reporter Tom Gazzola shared a video of Jarry on the ice working with goalie coach Peter Aubry. While Jarry has resumed skating and taking shots, his return is not imminent.

Head coach Kris Knoblauch said Jarry remains a couple of weeks away. The veteran netminder suffered a lower-body injury on Dec. 18 in a game against the Boston Bruins and was placed on injured reserve.
His injury has impacted the Oilers’ performance, with four losses in seven games since Jarry’s injury. However, the Oilers continue to prioritize caution given his importance.
Before the injury, Jarry delivered strong results for Edmonton, winning three consecutive games. He has posted a 12-3-1 record with a 2.73 goals-against average and .906 save percentage for the Penguins and Oilers. His calm presence helped mask the Oilers’ defensive issues briefly.

With Jarry out, Calvin Pickard and Connor Ingram are splitting duties. Ingram is set to start against Nashville after struggling in recent appearances. He has allowed nine goals on his last 61 shots and holds an .852 save percentage in that span. Pickard has fared slightly better but received limited defensive support.
The Predators enter the game hot, winning six of their last eight. Edmonton sits at 20-16-6 and remains close to the top in the Pacific Division. Connor McDavid continues to drive the offense with 72 points, while the power play leads the league.

Goaltending remains the question now. Jarry’s return timeline offers clarity, but patience will define Edmonton’s next few weeks.
