The Pittsburgh Penguins have assigned defenceman Harrison Brunicke to the WHL’s Kamloops Blazers on Wednesday morning.
Brunicke is coming off an appearance with Team Canada at the World Junior Championships. He had two assists in seven games, winning bronze.
The 19-year-old made the Penguins out of training camp and skated in nine games with the team, scoring one goal. He also appeared in five games with the AHL’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, notching four assists.
Brunicke was selected in the second round (44th overall) by Pittsburgh in 2024.
Hailing from Johannesburg, South Africa, Brunicke previously helped Canada win gold at the 2024 IIHF U18 World Championships.
In 2024-25 with Kamloops, he had five goals and 30 points in 41 games.
