The Yellowjackets rallied from a second period deficit to earn their first win of 2026 and third straight over WIAC foe Beloit on Wednesday night.
UWS came into the contest on nearly a month of rest, having last played on December 13 against Beloit. The Jackets swept that series and looked to start the new year the same way they ended 2025.
In the first period, Kade Shea would start the scoring for UWS, giving them a 1-0 lead heading into the first intermission.
The second period would start with two quick goals for Beloit, both coming from Max Von Klinggraeff. The Jackets would get an equalizer off the stick of Andrew Larson less than two minutes after, leveling the score at 2-2. Now past the halfway mark of period two, Blake Setter would break the tie for UWS, giving them a 3-2 lead heading into the final period.
That lead would hold, notching the Jackets their first win of 2026.
UWS will look to win their fourth straight win when they visit Concordia on Friday, January 9.
