Love Hockey, And Dogs? The Stanley Pup Is Back | WEBN

Looking for a fur friend? Maybe you want the new family member to love the NHL as much as you do. Well it’s back again.

The Stanley Pup, an initiative by the National Hockey League, is set to return in 2025 featuring 32 adoptable dogs. Broadcast dates are June 6th on TruTV in the US, June 7th on Sportsnet in Canada, and June 8th on NHL Network and NHL’s digital platforms. 

This year’s competition will have an adoptable dog representing each of the 32 league teams, all local to their respective areas.

Commentators Chris Rose and Mark Shunock will be joined by celebrities like Anthony Anderson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Bublé, and NHL players including Victor Hedman, Jaccob Slavin, and Sam Bennett. Executive producer Michael Levitt expressed, “There’s nothing more gratifying than to make content that actually changes lives.”

The Stanley Cup Finals happens in June, following the 21st annual Puppy Bowl which coincided with Super Bowl LIX in February.

The duo have released two songs from the project — \u003ca href=\”https://www.iheart.com/content/2025-02-07-the-black-keys-share-new-groove-based-song-the-night-before/\” target=\”_blank\”>\u003cstrong>"The Night Before"\u003c/strong>\u003c/a> and \u003ca href=\”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLc17CTqjRs&ab_channel=TheBlackKeys\” target=\”_blank\”>\u003cstrong>"Babygirl"\u003c/strong>\u003c/a> — and revealed that the recorded nearly 20 songs but narrowed it down to 11. They also spoke about how they were able to achieve the old-school sound on this album, something they’ve been doing their whole career but not with the equipment they wanted.\u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>"Dan [Auerbach] acquired a Universal Audio mixing desk from the early-sixties, late-fifties," drummer Patrick Carney explained. "It’s like the tube desk called a 610 and they’re very sought after." \u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>"it’s the kind of thing where we’ve always been trying to sort of make something sound what we thought sounded like that, and then to actually be able to work on it’s a whole different ballgame," he continued.\u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>"Yeah we were like, ‘how can we make it sound s****y again?" Auerbach added with a laugh.\u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>The Black Keys have yet to unveil a release date for \u003cem>No Rain No Flowers\u003c/em>; however, they did announce North American, UK and European tour dates in support for the album.
