Toronto Maple Leafs top pick Tinus Luc Koblar is dominating after moving up the ranks in Sweden.

After a recent promotion in Sweden, Leafs 2035 second round pick Tinus Luc Koblar is enjoying a breakout season in which the 18-year-old is continuing to improve as play moves along.

The Norwegian forward was viewed when he was drafted as the Leafs top pick at 64th overall as a raw prospect who would need some time to develop, but has quickly surpassed expectations.

Koblar is enjoying a quiet dominance after being moved up onto the top-six with Swedish top-flight club Leskands, having netted five points in four games since his jump in the lineup.

Koblar has four goals and nine points in 28 SHL games this season with Leksands, four in scoring among NHL drafted players in 2025.

Leksands head coach Johan Hedberg spoke recently to The Athletic about Koblar, saying he has the potential to become the team’s best player.

‘I had no idea how good Tinus was. If he keeps going like he’s been going, he’s going to be our best player by the end of the year. – Johan Hedberg

Tinus Luc Koblar’s emergence is becoming a major positive for the Leafs

Tinus Luc Koblar is becoming a legitimate prospect for the Toronto Maple Leafs, and it’s a boost for a Leafs prospect pool lacking in top-end prospects.

The 6’3 center is still a raw player, and may have not come into his best self yet, and that is something that could excite the Leafs brass with what could be a legitimately positive prospect for their system.

Koblar may need a few years in Sweden to mature his game and add more flair to his play, although he’s already overperformed, meaning his development timeline could be a lot closer than anticipated.

The Leafs have a deep group on offense, so Koblar can afford to spend a few years in Europe where he can develop into a potential top prospect and then make the jump to North America when he’s ready.

Koblar still needs time to take his game to a more mature state, but he’s finding that progress in short time and looking confident playing against men, and showing himself as more projectable as the season goes on.

Becoming a surprise grower quicker than most would have anticipated, Tinus Luc Koblar is building a case to be one of the Leafs most valuable young assets.
