The Leafs provide an update on the injury status of William Nylander ahead of tonight’s game vs the Philadelphia Flyers.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have issued an update on the health of star forward William Nylander after the winger’s injury absence.
Nylander has not been in the Leafs lineup since Dec. 27, injured in Toronto 7-5 win against the Ottawa Senators, placed on injured reserve with what was supposed to be a “day-to-day” injury that has entered it’s second week.
Toronto has provided an update on the health of Nylander, with Leafs head coach Craig Berube announced that Nylander would not play tonight, his sixth consecutive missed game.
Berube did, however, provide a positive update in saying that Nylander is progressing and could make his return as soon as Saturday vs Vancouver.
Despite having been injured since December, Nylander still leads the Leafs in points with 41, having 14 goals and 27 assists in 38 games for Toronto this season.
Leafs stick with lineup ahead of matchup vs Flyers
With William Nylander continuing to be out of the Toronto Maple Leafs lineup, the Leafs decided not to make any changes to the roster ahead of tonight’s game vs Philadelphia.
Max Domi continues on the Leafs top line with Bobby McMann and Auston Matthews, with Matias Maccelli and Matthew Knies on the wing for line two alongside John Tavares.
The one change for the Leafs comes in net as Dennis Hildeby slots in to the starting role for his first start of 2026, with Joseph Woll getting a night off following four consecutive games played.
Hildeby last played on January 1st in relief of Woll after being pulled against the Winnipeg Jets. Hildeby has a 3-5-4 record in 15 games for Toronto this season with a 2.82 GAA and a .914 SV%.
