The Vancouver Canucks & GM Patrik Allvin are reportedly receiving interest from teams around the National Hockey League on 2026 Olympic defenseman Filip Hronek.
While it’s been a very difficult season for the Vancouver Canucks, who are in the midst of a five-game losing streak and haven’t won in 2026 yet, one bright spot has been defenseman Filip Hronek.
While trading Filip Hronek doesn’t seem like a move that’ll happen anytime soon, despite his value being very high at the moment, it looks like some teams have shown interest in the 28-year-old blueliner.
Vancouver Canucks reportedly receiving interest from teams on Filip Hronek
During Monday’s edition of Donnie & Dhali, National Hockey League insider Elliotte Friedman spoke about the ongoing trade rumors surrounding the Vancouver Canucks of late and revealed that teams have asked Patrik Allvin about Filip Hronek.
However, even though there is interest in Filip Hronek, who could net a pretty big return for the Canucks, Freidman said that he doesn’t think he’ll be leaving Vancouver anytime soon.
“I don’t think Tyler Myers is going anywhere; I think teams have asked…about Filip Hronek, I don’t think he’s going anywhere; their UFAs, they’re kinda out there; Sherwood’s obviously the big one.” Friedman said.
Hronek, a native of Hradec Kralove, Czechia, is under contract through the 2031-32 season with a cap hit of $7.25 million USD annually and with Quinn Hughes dealt to the Minnesota Wild last month, he’s taken on a bigger role with the club now that he’s officially become the Canucks’ number one defenseman.
It’s shaping up to be a very busy couple of months in the Lower Mainland and it’s going to be very interesting to see what changes actually occur between now and 12 p.m. PT on Friday, March 6th.
