On the back end of a back-to-back, the flu-ridden Chicago Blackhawks venture to Bridgestone Arena to play the Nashville Predators.

The Chicago Blackhawks finally ran into their first loss of 2026 on Friday night. With a flu-ridden roster and numerous players far from full strength, the Hawks fell to the Washington Capitals 5-1 at the United Center. On the second half of a back-to-back, a big performance in Nashville will be necessary.

Chicago Blackhawks at Nashville Predators Preview

The Nashville Predators are in a weird position. With some struggles this season, there are rumors and reports of veteran stars Jonathan Marchessault and Steven Stamkos serving as trade chips. There is no certainty of the future in Nashville, but the team will always show up against the Blackhawks. And, despite the struggles, the Predators best the Blackhawks by a single point in the standings. A 7-3-0 stretch in their last 10 has helped them rebound after early-season turmoil.

As for Chicago, the flu is hurting the team temporarily. Going forward however, the team is in good shape. Connor Bedard returned against the Capitals on Friday and looked like his normal self. Head coach Jeff Blashill stated that Bedard will not take face-offs for the foreseeable future, but having him back on the ice is a huge boost. The Blackhawks are still 5-2-1 over their last eight games, and a win on Saturday should push momentum in their favor with numerous games at the United Center over the next week or so.
