Toronto Maple Leafs forward Bobby McMann is making headlines after fans reacted to his heartwarming homage for a fan who sadly passed away recently.
Although he is bit of a late bloomer when it comes to being in the fabric of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Bobby McMann has become a fan favorite for his ability to not only score goals at breakneck speed, but also throw his weight around and be a key point of Toronto’s offense.
Only here for a short time however doesnt mean that McMann hasn’t made a strong impact on the fanbase and his recent actions should only endear him even more.
Bobby McMann’s tribute to fallen Maple Leafs fan
It was revealed during Saturday’s broadcast between the Maple Leafs and Canucks that McMann had arrived earlier dressed as if he had just come off a shift in the construction yard.
Emblazoned with a neon yellow vest and name tag, it was then noted that McMann was paying homage to a fan named Kevin who had sadly passed away and the forward was wearing a Loblaws uniform as tribute:
While it may be a small and insignificant gesture to some, it shows that even the tiniest bits of your life can impact you in big ways.
McMann used to frequent the store where the fan had worked, and even took time to get sone snapshots with him. Upon hearing about his passing, the forward felt he deserved recognition.

Amidst a season where there is a lot of pressure, it’s genuinely heartwarming to see these types of moments. Athletes are still humans at the end of the day and while they may seem larger than life when they play — they still live regular lives too.
McMann has been great this year and really picked it up as of late. In 43 games he has 23 points (13 goals, 10 assists) while adding 19 blocks, 93 hits, and a plus-four rating.
While he may be a free agent at the end of the year and his future in Toronto isn’t guaranteed, at least Bobby McMann can live with the fact that his small gesture didn’t go unnoticed and he deserves praise for showing the human side of hockey.
