NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman made a little slip-up on social media which brought some hilarious comments, though he was quick to apologize for the mishap.

Arguably the most connected and trusted insider when it comes to the NHL, Elliotte Friedman is often first to break blockbuster signings, deals, and always has his finger on the pulse of league rumors.

Friedman’s slip-up causes hilarious reaction on social media

But his latest social media post caught a lot of attention as the insider may have accidentally created a hilarious bit of news himself.

Fans noted that Friedman’s account on X (@FriedgeHNIC) had reposted a meme photo that some may find funny, but drew a little criticism after it was clear that it was a complete slip of the finger:

Friedman was quick to note that this was not intended and that he had genuinely no idea what happened until he was told by several people that he had posted the meme.

But it was not lost on the entire NHL and their fanbase when it came to the mistake and they had a field day online with even Sportsnet themselves poking fun at Friedman’s slip-up:

Fans were quick to screenshot the post however and it’s going to likely follow Friedman for a long time, which should lead to some more friendly jabs on social media.

At least the insider wasn’t taking it too hard, and while he’s the utmost professional when it comes to his day to day work, this shows he has a bit of a sense of humour that we don’t get a glimpse of much.

At the end of the day, Friedman apologized for his mistakes, a few people had some laughs, and business will continue on as usual.
