Cameron Allard spent two seasons with the Estevan U18 AAA Bears.

ESTEVAN — A former member of the Estevan Great North U18 AAA Bears is gaining attention for the 2026 NHL Entry Draft.

Defenceman Cameron Allard, who is currently playing for the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League, was ranked 190th overall among North American skaters by the NHL’s Central Scouting bureau in the agency’s mid-term rankings, released Jan. 12.

It’s believed to be the first time that a Bears’ alumni has been in the mid-term or final rankings for the NHL Entry Draft.

Allard spent two seasons playing for the Bears. In his second campaign in 2024-25, he had six goals and 30 assists for 36 points in 44 games for the Bears. He also won the Adam Herold Memorial Award as the top defenceman in the Saskatchewan Male U18 AAA Hockey League.

So far this season, he has two goals and seven assists in 34 games for Brandon.

The 2026 NHL draft will take place in June in Buffalo.
