Dan Vladar won’t play Saturday afternoon when the Flyers host the Rangers, according to a source.
However, per a source, the team’s No. 1 goaltender is being considered day to day with his undisclosed injury.
That’s good news for a Flyers team that has been led by Vladar’s play in net. The free-agent signing has a 2.46 goals-against average and .905 save percentage in 28 games. He already has a career-high 16 wins.
The 28-year-old had exit the Flyers’ 5-2 loss Wednesday night to the Sabres after the first period.
The Flyers are trying to snap a five-game losing streak Saturday as they welcome New York (1 p.m. ET/NBCSP). They’ve been outscored 25-9 over the season-worst 0-4-1 skid.
Head coach Rick Tocchet will hold his pregame media availability at 10:30 a.m. ET. We’ll know then if it’ll be Samuel Ersson or Aleksei Kolosov in net for the Flyers.
Ersson started Thursday night before Kolosov took over early in the second period as the Flyers lost to the Penguins, 6-3.
