The Detroit Red Wings still haven’t lost consecutive games in regulation time since November,

Dylan Larkin’s goal 4:41 into the third period was the difference as the Red Wings beat the San Jose Sharks 4-2 on Friday at Little Caesars Arena. From the goalmouth, he jammed a puck under the pads of Sharks goalie Yaroslav Askarov. Initially, the goal was waved off by officials. However, it counted following a video review.

Marco Kasper salted away the victory with an empty-net goal.

The Red Wings came into this game off a 3-0 loss on Tuesday at Boston.

Alex DeBrincat, on a first-period power play, and JT Compher, with his sixth goal of the season, also scored for the Red Wings.

DeBrincat’s goal was his team-leading 25th of the season. He’s also Detroit’s leading scorer with 50 points.

Will Smith (13th of the season) and Collin Graf (14th) scored for the Sharks.

John Gibson made 19 saves to get the win for Detroit.

Red Wings Key Stat

Detroit defenseman Axel Sandin-Pellikka didn’t play another five-on-five shift after the 5:49 mark of the second period. His only action the rest of that period was an eight-second stint at the end of the frame with the Red Wings’ second power-play unit. Sandin-Pellikka played two shifts in the third period.

On San Jose’s second goal, Graf got inside position on Sandin-Pellikka at the net front to tip the puck past Gibson.
