Philadelphia Flyers

Philly Hockey Now: Make it SIX straight games without a win for the Flyers, and five straight regulation losses, as the white-flag-waiving New York Rangers embarrassed the Philadelphia Flyers 6-3 at Xfinity Mobile Arena on Saturday. It was not good.

A blunt Sean Couturier addressed the Flyers’ recent struggles after the loss, saying, “We sucked, plain and simple.” Hear what else the Flyers’ captain had to say following the loss.

Before the game on Saturday, head coach Rick Tocchet gave an update on some of the team’s many injuries. That included one player who is close to returning, one who may be a little farther out, and one who is not making the trip.

Adding to the list of injuries, the Flyers lost Rodrigo Abols in the first period of Saturday’s game, needing help getting off the ice following a scary-looking lower-body injury.

And finally, the Flyers officially placed Rasmus Ristolainen on injured reserve on Saturday. In a corresponding move, the team has officially called up LHD Hunter McDonald, who could make his NHL debut on the road trip.
