Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Forwards for Week 16
Matty Beniers, Seattle Kraken

The Seattle Kraken are in a playoff spot and have been playing good hockey over the last month-plus. This team wins and loses as a team, but Matty Beniers has stepped up to be one of the leaders offensively, continuing where he left off in the latter half of last season. The top line center has 10 goals and 31 points on the season, but has been much more impactful lately.

Beniers has six goals and 13 points in his last 14 games played, is on the top power play, and has some surging linemates as well. He hasn’t gone over two games in a row without a point since November, shoots, adds hits and blocked shots, and still has three games to go this week. The Kraken play the New York Islanders, Anaheim Ducks, and New Jersey Devils, so an easier schedule to score.

Dylan Cozens, Ottawa Senators

Why Dylan Cozens is still widely available is astonishing, but if he is, that’s someone who should absolutely be grabbed immediately, whether you’re in a banger league or not. He is centering the top line of the Ottawa Senators and playing alongside Brady Tkachuk. Cozens is also on the top power play, which plays a lot and has been effective.

Cozens has goals in three straight games and added two assists in that time as well. Three of those points have come on the power play, plus he hits and shoots a good amount. He has 15 goals and 36 points on the season, and the Senators have games against the Columbus Blue Jackets, Nashville Predators, Carolina Hurricanes, and Vegas Golden Knights, so you can take advantage of a hot player and four games this week.

Ryan O’Reilly, Nashville Predators

Ryan O’Reilly has been very good this season, but he has generally gone under the radar because he plays in Nashville and they are out of the playoffs once again. The Predators are better than they were last season, and O’Reilly remains a scoring threat who plays a lot in every situation. Some of the other forwards around him have been producing as well, so it only helps all around.

O’Reilly has five goals and nine points in his last seven games, and going back over his past 26 games, he has 10 goals and 31 points. The veteran center is on the top line between Filip Forsberg and a breakout player in Luke Evangelista. The Predators have the Buffalo Sabres, Senators, and Utah Mammoth on tap this week.
