Travis Konecny absolutely sparked the Flyers against Vegas (January 19, 2026) in their gritty 2-1 road win over the Vegas Golden Knights at T-Mobile Arena. The Flyers snapped a frustrating six-game losing streak, while also handing Vegas their first loss in eight games (ending a seven-game winning streak).Konecny was the offensive hero, scoring both Flyers goals on breakaways—his first multi-goal game of the 2025-26 season:

Early in the first period (3:46 in), he capitalized on a Vegas turnover, racing in alone and beating Adin Hill glove side for a 1-0 lead. It was the Flyers’ first shot of the game.
The game-winner came shorthanded at 7:22 of the third period. Jack Eichel’s drop pass went awry, leading to another Konecny breakaway. He roofed it blocker side on Hill, making it 2-1 and holding up as the dagger.

Those two tallies (his 16th and 17th of the season) were clutch, especially the shorty in the third that broke a 1-1 tie after Tomas Hertl had tied it for Vegas with a power-play goal in the second. Sam Ersson was also stellar in net, stopping 24 of 25 shots for the win—his best performance in a while, with key saves to preserve the lead late. The Flyers’ penalty kill was huge too, going 6-for-7 against a strong Vegas power play. This was a signature “character win” for Philly during a tough stretch, with Konecny showing his speed, finishing, and leadership as Alternate Captain. He single-handedly provided the spark needed to end the skid.
