The Vancouver Canucks will get a big boost to their lineup tonight as they continue their eight-game homestand against Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals.
After setting a new franchise record for most consecutive losses, the Vancouver Canucks are back in action tonight as they welcome the Washington Capitals to town for what could be the final visit to Rogers Arena for the league’s greatest goal scorer – Alex Ovechkin.
“Our veterans are the ones that feel defeated first. It’s been going on here for a few years. We get off our game, we get frustrated, we over-complicate it…It’s something we have to get out of our culture. Our culture’s not going to be that anymore.” Foote said according to Brendan Batchelor of Sportsnet.
Vancouver Canucks get big boost to their lineup for Wednesday night’s game
Head Coach Adam Foote was hopeful that Teddy Blueger would be good enough to return to the lineup on Monday against the New York Islanders, but that wasn’t the case, however, it appears the Latvian centerman is back tonight against Washington, the same team he suffered his injury against on October 19th.
As the Canucks hit the ice for the morning skate, Brendan Batchelor of Sportsnet reported that Teddy Blueger was on the team’s third line, flanked by Liam Ohgren and Conor Garland, signalling that tonight is likely the night for his return to game action.
“Wednesday morning skate #Canucks lines
Kane. EP40. DeBrusk.
O’Connor. Kämpf. Boeser.
Öhgren. Blueger. Garland.
Höglander. Sasson. Karlsson.
EP25. Hronek.
Buium. Myers.
MP29. Willander.
Extras: Bains. Chytil, Joseph, Raty.” Batchelor shared.
Blueger, 31, has appeared in just two games for the Canucks this season where he has one goal, no penalty minutes and an even-rating while averaging 15:49 of ice time per night.
