The San Jose Sharks this season have surprised many with the season they’re having. The Sharks are trading a 2026 second-round draft pick, a 2027 second-round draft pick, and defenseman Cole Clayton. The Canucks lowered their price for Sherwood, originally wanting a first-round draft pick. Sherwood is a free agent after this season unless the Sharks can extend him. This season in 44 games, he has 23 points on 17 goals and six assists. He’s a -12 with six power-play goals, a shorthanded goal, and two game-winning goals. The Sharks will be his fifth different team in eight seasons. Cole Clayton, in 33 games for the Barracuda in the AHL, has five points on two goals and three assists; he’s a minus-five.
