ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) -The St. Louis Blues partnered with the American Red Cross on Tuesday for their annual blood drive.
This marks the 19th year the Blues have partnered with the American Red Cross to help address the blood shortage that typically occurs during the colder months.
“We are sending out an appeal to everyone to come out to donate blood now and it’s critical for us to have this during these months, you have a lot of snow and a lot of weather and we want to make sure that people have the chance and opportunity for hospitals to keep supply with their demand,” said Lakricia Cox, executive director of the St. Louis chapter of the American Red Cross.
The Red Cross told First Alert 4 that they received 609 units of donated blood in Tuesday’s blood drive.
