New Jersey Devils News and Notes:
The New Jersey Devils have been on a tear as of late, winning four of their last five games and terrifying the Pacific division with back-to-back wins over the Calgary Flames and the Edmonton Oilers, leading into tonight’s game against the Vancouver Canucks. Like the Canucks previous matchup, the Washington Capitals and the New Jersey Devils are nearing a must-win point in their season as they’ve dealt with injuries all season long and are right in the thick of things in the Eastern Conference wild card race, just three spots back.
Vancouver Canucks News and Notes:
The Vancouver Canucks have officially picked up their first win of 2026 in a tight 4-3 victory against the Washington Capitals on Wednesday. Will that deter the team and the front office from being sellers at the deadline and from targeting the top pick in the 2026 NHL draft, absolutely not. Great signs of offensive production for the Canucks out of under-performers like Brock Boeser and David Kampf, both having multipoint nights, but the Canucks are just too far back to make any splashes in the wild card race.

Players to Watch:
New Jersey Devils:
The fourth line dynamic duo of Cody Glass and Arseny Gritsyuk capitalized big time in their last game against a top team in the west, the Edmonton Oilers, with both men grabbing a goal and an assist and carrying the team to a 2-1 victory at Rogers Place in Edmonton. Both Glass and Gritsyuk have been secret weapons all season long for the Devils, Gritsyuk with nine goals and eleven assists, and Glass with eleven goals and four assists.
Vancouver Canucks:
Jake DeBrusk was able to grab two assists in his last game and has solidified his spot on the top line alongside Elias Pettersson for the foreseeable future. DeBrusk hasn’t found consistent production all season, with just 12 goals and 12 assists, but since the departure of Kiefer Sherwood, this could be a golden opportunity for DeBrusk to explode. Teddy Blueger got right back to it in his first game back as well, with four hits and three shots on goal, quickly back to his physical, hard-nosed style.
