1. Busch Stadium could see renovations in the next few years

Busch Stadium turns 20 this year, and the team says it will need work sometime in the near future. Team President Bill DeWitt III wouldn’t give a more specific timeline this weekend at the annual Winter Warm Up, but described it as a multifaceted project.

2. 3.8 magnitude earthquake reported northeast of St. Louis early Tuesday

A 3.8 magnitude earthquake was reported south of Taylorville, Ill., about 90 miles northeast of St. Louis, Mo., overnight. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake happened around 1:30 a.m., with an epicenter near Ohlman, Ill.

3. St. Louis Blues select second sports gambling partner

The Saint Louis Blues add BetMGM as an official sports betting partner with a multi-year agreement.

4. St. Louis Fire Department mourns the death of Chief Richardson

Saint Louis Fire Department (SLFD) announced the passing of Michael Richardson, a retired Fire Battalion Chief. Through 38-years-old of serving the department, Richardson mentored and led firefighters as a Deacon, a Communications Manager and as a battalion chief.

5. Four St. Louis restaurants on Yelp’s ‘Top 100 Places To Eat’ list

Each year, Yelp announces is “Top 100 Places to Eat” list and this year, four St. Louis restaurants have been recognized. The list offers an inside look at what spots the organization’s users love about various diners across the nation.

6. Mo. Independent: Bills legalizing driverless cars clear a Missouri House committee

The push to allow Waymo driverless taxis to operate in Missouri cleared its first hurdle Tuesday evening. The House Emerging Issues committee voted 7-4 Tuesday, along partisan lines, to advance two identical bills sponsored by Republican state Reps. Don Mayhew of Crocker and Brandon Phelps of Warrensburg. The bills had received strong support from advocates for the disabled, Mothers Against Drunk Driving and St. Louis Mayor Cara Spencer, during a three-hour public hearing last week.

7. State investigating cannabis odor in Rock Hill, meeting next month on issue

Rock Hill officials encourage its residents to make a big stink about the reported bad odor coming from a local marijuana production facility by submitting a complaint to the city. It comes while the city seeks answers and help.

8. Ex-catcher Yadier Molina returns to the Cardinals as a special assistant to the front office

Yadier Molina is rejoining the St. Louis Cardinals as a special assistant to the front office, where the longtime catcher will provide his thoughts on the club’s catching program, game strategy and day-to-day operations.

9. Missouri auditor probes SLMPD to review operations during transition from local control

Missouri State Auditor, Scott Fitzpatrick, announced he launched a performance audit of the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD). Fitzpatrick’s audit is to review department operations during its transition from local control to a citizen-led board of police commissioners and began two weeks ago, Jan. 7.

10. Missouri GOP lawmakers want governor to appoint MSHSAA board

Missouri senate and house committees are scheduled to hear testimony Thursday on bills that would put the state’s governing body for high school sports under a board of directors appointed by the governor.
