The phone doesn’t seem to stop ringing for the Vancouver Canucks and Elias Pettersson, all the contending teams are in need of a centre, including the Carolina Hurricanes, who want to include Jesperi Kotkaniemi in the package for Pettersson.

NHL Rumour Report posted on X, the struggles for Kotkaniemi on the Hurricanes, and how they will consider trading him as a piece of the package for Pettersson.

The Hurricanes are definitely after Elias Pettersson and want to get him before the deadline, so Kotkaniemi’s name could resurface in some trade talks with the Canucks. However he hasn’t been that impressive since joining the Hurricanes. He only has 6 points in 27 games this year, they would have to throw at least a first rounder and probably a 2nd rounder for Pettersson to make this deal work. The Hurricanes like many contenders need a second line centre, and there are not many on the market available for trade.
