The Chicago Blackhawks visit the Minnesota Wild in St. Paul for their second matchup of the season.

The Chicago Blackhawks dealt with a tough gauntlet over the weekend. Unfortunately, one period of bad hockey and a few shootout “bounces” were the difference between 3-0-0 and 1-1-1. Nonetheless, the Blackhawks have a tough opponent ahead on Tuesday night in the form of the Minnesota Wild.

Chicago Blackhawks at Minnesota Wild Preview

The Minnesota Wild look a bit different since the last time these two team met back in November. The Wild pulled off a blockbuster trade for Quinn Hughes, deepening their blue line and adding one of the best offensive blueliners in the game. However, losing Marco Rossi and depleting the middle of their lineup has its risks. That said, top players like Matt Boldy and Kirill Kaprisov ease the blow in the near term.

As for Chicago, this team is also a tad different. Oliver Moore, Ryan Greene, and others have grown in their respective roles. The Blackhawks aren’t as involved in the playoff standings as they were back in November, but they are competing against some of the league’s best in a beautiful way. The Blackhawks should show up and really make it difficult on the Wild on Tuesday night.

Although a win won’t necessarily do much for the Blackhawks in the sense of this season, but it would be another feather in their cap as they continue to build up their young roster with meaningful experience.
