In another kind of Heated Rivalry, former Inter Miami CF star Sergio Busquets has quietly handed off his waterfront home near Fort Lauderdale to Florida Panthers standout Sam Reinhart for $9 million, according to public records.
The deal links two athletes—one from the pitch, one from the ice—who both helped deliver recent championship runs to local fans. Busquets anchored Inter Miami’s midfield during the club’s 2025 MLS Cup victory, while Reinhart was instrumental in the Panthers’ back-to-back Stanley Cup wins in 2024 and 2025.
Set along an inland lake inside the gated Sea Ranch Lakes enclave, the newly built residence spans roughly 7,100 square feet on a pancake-flat parcel of just under 15,000 square feet. The seven-bedroom home was reportedly sold by BUGA USA LLC, an entity managed by Busquets, to Reinhart and his wife, Jessica Jewell. According to the South Florida Business Journal, Wells Fargo Bank provided a $5.4 million mortgage, putting the deal at roughly $1,169 per square foot.

The main floor blends open living, dining, and kitchen areas for easy entertaining.

Built by First Water and developed by Beth Geduld, the home last traded for $8.67 million in 2023, the year it was completed. There are seven bedrooms, six full bathrooms, and three half-baths, plus a den, library, office, great room, loft, and media room. Water-facing terraces and balconies overlook 115 feet of lake frontage, a pool, and a summer kitchen. A three-car garage and high-impact doors round out the offering.
Sea Ranch Lakes residents are drawn to the neighborhood for its secured access and deeded beach access. Waterfront properties rarely change hands. Veroushka Volkert of ONE Sotheby’s International Realty represented Busquets, while Betsy Rauch of VG Luxury Properties Realty worked with the buyers. Volkert also holds the record for the highest sale in the Sea Ranch Lakes community, a $13 million deal along the Intracoastal. She declined to comment on the transaction.

Busquets, a native of Spain, spent most of his storied career at FC Barcelona, where he amassed 33 trophies, including nine La Liga titles and seven Copa del Rey championships. He joined Inter Miami in 2023 and helped usher the club to an MLS Cup title in 2025 before retiring.
Reinhart, drafted second overall by the Buffalo Sabres in 2014, was traded to the Florida Panthers in 2021 and quickly became one of the franchise’s defining players. He scored the decisive Game 7 goal in the 2024 Stanley Cup Finals, later re-signing on an eight-year, $69 million extension. He has represented Team Canada internationally and is slated to compete at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
