Penguins’ Bryan Rust suspended 3 games for an illegal check to the head of Canucks’ Brock Boeser

I think it’s 3 games is *** lot. It’s, you know, I, I don’t agree with it. I think organizationally don’t agree with it. They have *** tough job, you know, in the league in terms of looking at these things. You know, Brian Rust is *** guy who, um, you know what you’re going to get from him every night. He’s *** guy that works off every day. He’s *** guy that’s heart and soul. Um, you know, one thing he’s not, he’s *** dirty player. He’s going to do everything he can, um, you know, to help the team win. Um, but he’s done it *** clean way. I mean, I’ve coached against this guy. He’s been in the league for 12 years, like 750+ games. Like, like there’s, you know, you, you, you see his track record. Um, he’s *** guy who works, but he also plays the game the right way and he plays it clean. And so based on that track record, um, based on the player, who he is, um, what he’s shown for *** very long time in this league, um, yeah, yeah, I think. I disagree with it. And again, the league’s got *** tough job, but, um, you know, in terms of the play, it’s, it’s the end of the game. He’s doing everything he can to just get back to the net front, not, not allow another shot on net in the closing seconds. And so, um, you know, kind of the way he, he comes in there, he’s trying to get on the defensive side and You know, when you look at the video too, like it’s, you know, there’s *** lot of things happening there, um, and so you know there’s the visual of it that you see but there’s also I think, you know, the intent and how all those things unfolded so. But it’s going to be now an opportunity for guys to step up in his absence while he’s out. Obviously Rusty’s *** guy who he plays just about every role you can imagine on this hockey team and and does it very well. And so now it’s going to be an opportunity for other guys there to come in and to get an opportunity to to fill that hole while he’s gone.
