Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Wild turned a potentially deflating loss into an inspiring comeback victory Tuesday night, erasing a three-goal deficit to defeat the Chicago Blackhawks 4-3 in a shootout at Grand Casino Arena.

With time running out and their deficit still intact, Wild captain Jared Spurgeon became the hero, scoring the game-tying goal with just two minutes remaining in regulation to force overtime and eventually a shootout.

Yakov Trenin and Joel Eriksson Ek also found the back of the net for Minnesota during the dramatic comeback. After a scoreless overtime period, the Wild sealed the victory in a tightly-contested three-round shootout, winning 1-0.

The Wild will look to build on this momentum when they return home to host the Calgary Flames on Thursday night. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
