The Chicago Blackhawks venture to Pittsburgh to face the Penguins for the second and final time this season.
Tuesday’s game between the Chicago Blackhawks and Minnesota Wild was disastrous. With a 3-0 lead over halfway through the second period, the Hawks watched their lead evaporate. The Wild pushed tied the game late in the third period, forced overtime and a shootout, and ultimately won. Now, the Blackhawks are looking to wash that bad taste out of their mouth.
Chicago Blackhawks at Pittsburgh Penguins Preview
The Blackhawks and Pittsburgh Penguins will conclude their season series with Thursday’s game. In the first chapter of the 2025-26 saga, the Penguins took it to the Hawks. A 7-3 win at the United Center by the Penguins humbled the Blackhawks. Oddly, that was the only awful game for Chicago during a rather successful stretch around the turn of the year.
Now, the Blackhawks are sputtering a bit, knowing the trade deadline will change the landscape of the current roster. As for Pittsburgh, they’re thriving, sitting second place in the Metropolitan Division. In addition, the Pens are riding a four-game win streak, looking to make it five against the Hawks. According to beat writers, Arvid Soderblom will take the net on Thursday and Spencer Knight will see the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday.
Sidney Crosby continues to lead the Penguins in scoring, with 57 points in 51 games. As long as Crosby is ON, the Penguins have a chance. In addition, their deal to acquire Stuart Skinner has been brilliant, with the netminder posting 7-4-0 record with a 2.31 GAA in 11 games.
