Nazem Kadri still has three years remaining on his contract with the Calgary Flames.

Despite that, the potentially rebuilding Flames potentially see value in trading Kadri while he’s 35 and still a potential contributor rather than riding out the rest of his contract.

And now, it appears Kadri doesn’t mind the idea.

“In the case of Kadri, multiple sources have confirmed that while he has not formally requested a trade, he and his camp have informed the Flames he is open to being moved,” reports NHL insider David Pagnotta.

Pagnotta adds that some teams will want part of Kadri’s salary handled by the Flames, which he reports is also in consideration.

Four teams Pagnotta has linked to Kadri are:

Dallas StarsMontreal CanadiensColorado AvalancheMinnesota Wild

Kadri isn’t the player he once was, but he likely can be a middle-six veteran player to help out a contending team.

This season, the lefty center has played in 52 games for the Flames and scored nine goals with 26 assists (35 points).

He had 67 points in 82 games last season, and 75 in 82 games the year before.

On the availability front, Kadri is clearly reliable.

He has played 1,037 NHL games in his career with 745 points (316 goals, 429 assists), also spending long stints with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Colorado Avalanche.

Now, Kadri may add another team to the ledger as the Flames try to get value for him before his decline kicks in for real.
