The Buffalo Sabres continued their winning ways yesterday, beating the LA Kings 4-1 at KeyBank Center. It was the Sabres’ 5th win in a row and also a record night for Buffalo’s goaltender Alex Lyon.

Alex Lyon Sets New Record For Buffalo Sabres

Yesterday’s win was the 10th straight win for Alex Lyon, which set a new franchise record for most wins by a goalie in a row.

That is an impressive number considering how many amazing goaltenders have come through Buffalo. From Tom Barrasso to Don Edwards, to Ryan Miller, to Dominik Hasek, none of these amazing goalies have ever won 10 starts in a row.

With the win, the Buffalo Sabres continue to push to the playoffs. They have the current longest playoff drought in NHL history. The Buffalo Sabres haven’t made the playoffs since the 2010-2011 season. At the time of this writing, the Sabres are in 3rd place in the Atlantic Division, and they are 3rd overall in the Eastern Conference.

If the season were to end today, the Sabres would host the 1st round of the NHL playoffs.

Puck drop for that game is set for 7 pm.
