After Thursday’s win, the Habs locker room experienced another completely incredible scene.
The Canadiens shared the footage after one of their best games of the season, the kind fans now expect after every big win. This time, the camera follows Jakub Dobes to his stall.
You can sense his pride, but above all his calm.
What stands out is Samuel Montembeault rushing over to congratulate him, without any hesitation.
Internally, competition exists, but the respect appears rock-solid. When your starting goalie is applauding, it’s clear the atmosphere is excellent.
Martin St-Louis also took a moment to speak to the group and mention Dobes in front of everyone with thoughtful words.
You could see how much it meant to Dobes.
On the ice, it translated into a 7-3 win over the Colorado Avalanche at the Bell Centre. Nick Suzuki recorded three points, and Dobes stopped 26 of 29 shots.

And then comes the ritual — the wolf head — which really turns up the volume in the room.
Jake Evans passed the torch, and it was captain Nick Suzuki who received it.
See the special locker room scenes here:
Jakub is having an excellent season and has just helped the Canadiens secure two big wins. So far this year, he has appeared in 25 games with a 17-5-3 record.
His performances also align with his recent trajectory. In 2024–2025, Dobes played 16 NHL games with a 7-4-3 record.
He finished that season with a 2.74 goals-against average, a .909 save percentage, and one shutout.
A night like this against a Western powerhouse gives the team energy moving forward.
When the captain receives the wolf head after a win like that, it perfectly captures the spirit of the moment, and you could feel it in the smiles.
