You can hear it, can’t you? On the wind? The hint of John Williams?
That’s right, the Olympics are close. VERY close. And the Kraken send Grubauer and their Finnish phenoms of Kaapo Kakko and Eeli Tolvanen to go compete for the Gold.
BUT!
We still have a couple of games before we get there, and I need that time to make the super-primer. So let’s check in with the division-leading Knights, who, even by their catastrophically low standards, are seemingly league leaders in being annoying.
They simply never stay down when all evidence should say they shouldn’t be.
They play every game like it is their destiny to get rolled over, and then turn right around in the final 30 minutes of game time and play to either get tied or take over at the last possible second. Granted, this strategy has not always born fruit; the Knights are currently nursing a 3 game losing streak, and the one game they lost in regulation they lost by a lot. This is the perfect time for the Kraken to take advantage of their less than ideal momentum to get an all important two points against a divisional rival.
But if the comeback begins in Vegas…they need to stamp it out. As soon as possible. Every minute they let Vegas think they have a chance is a minute they can and most likely will take for themselves. The Kraken have bested these goons before, but even playing Kraken hockey meant they had to go to OT to finish things. Further, every single game on this road trip is against a Pacific Division opponent; they cannot let off the gas for even a second.
If they can put the Knights out of their sight, then they can move on to setting up for that back-to-back in SoCal.
LET’S GO KRAKEN, LET’S GO SQUIDS
