The Toronto Maple Leafs have officially addressed the future of general manager Brad Treliving following the Leafs’ humiliating collapse against the Panthers.
When the Maple Leafs vaulted out in front of the Florida Panthers, taking a 2-0 series lead in Round 2, all of the talk around the league was about how different this Leafs team really is.
However, knowing now what we didn’t know then, the same playoff demons crept up on the team, who could not find a way to rise to the occasion, bowing out in embarrassing fashion, being outscored 12-4 in the final 3 games of the series, including two 6-1 blowout losses in Games 5 and 7.
Now, thanks to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, we now also know the fate of Leafs GM Brad Treliving, who was, surprisingly, also on the hot seat following the loss to Florida. Per Friedman, Treliving will remain in Toronto as the team’s general manager moving forward.
In addition, it appears as though Associate Coach Lane Lambert will be on the move as well, with the recent news that the Leafs have granted him permission to speak with the Seattle Kraken about their vacant head coaching position.
