The Pittsburgh Penguins have won five straight games, but they’ll have to look to continue their streak without star defenseman Kris Letang.
“The Penguins have placed defenseman Kris Letang on Injured Reserve,” the team’s official account posted on X on Saturday.
The Penguins announced that Letang will miss at least four weeks due to the foot injury.
Pittsburgh has four more contests scheduled before a three-week break during the Winter Olympics, so if the 38-year-old is sidelined for just four weeks, he may not miss too many games.

Letang has skated in 50 of the Penguins’ first 52 contests this season, recording 25 points via three goals and 22 assists.
He’s played in at least 64 games in four straight campaigns and suited up in 55 of Pittsburgh’s 56 contests during the pandemic-shortened 2020-21 season.
