The Los Angeles Kings made a pair of roster moves on Saturday, activating captain Anze Kopitar from Injured Reserve while placing forward Alex Turcotte on Injured Reserve.
The 38-year-old Kopitar, who is expected to retire at the end of this season, has been on the shelf since Jan. 5, when he suffered a lower-body injury in a game against the Minnesota Wild.
The 20th-year centre, who has served as captain of the Kings since the 2016 season, has six goals and 21 points in 37 games this year.
Originally drafted with the 11th overall pick in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Kopitar has helped guide the Kings to two Stanley Cup titles (2012, 2014), has earned two Selke Trophies and three Lady Byng Memorial Trophies in his storied career.
Turcotte, 24, has three goals and 12 points in 49 games this season, his fifth in Los Angeles.
The Kings entered play on Saturday third from the bottom of the Pacific Division standings at 22-17-13.
