Colorado Avalanche has eight players from five different countries in the Olympics

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – The Colorado Avalanche has eight players from five different countries competing in the Olympics.

With the Winter Olympics opening ceremony taking place on Friday in Milan, Italy, many Avs players are gearing up, but not just for Team USA.

Three players from the Avalanche will be playing for Team Canada: Nathan Mackinnon, Cale Makar and Devon Toews.

Gabriel Landeskog will play for Sweden, Martin Necas will play for the Czech Republic and Artturi Lehkonen and Joel Kiviranta will play for Finland.

Avs center Brock Nelson will be playing for Team USA.
