Sebastian Aho speaks to the media after a 4-3 win over the Senators
Sebastian, I spoke with Rod halfway through the 2nd. He felt it was kind of loose out there at that point and then it got tighter and better from there. What did you see through the second half of the game? Yeah, I was good. Obviously we were able to. Get a get a win, so that’s uh that’s what matters and yeah, I mean that. I mean, yeah, solid game. I mean they, they played, played well and uh so did we, so, so, uh, yeah, good win. Did it feel like, uh, did it feel like maybe you wanted to get that win for Bus because he, he made some great saves through there and it was 3-1 and you want to hold on to not let that performance slip away maybe? Yeah, I mean, sure, I mean, our goal has been really good the whole year. I mean it’s just gives us a chance to win a hockey game every night and that’s, that’s all you can ask and obviously Bus made some. Great saves tonight but yeah, the goalie to me you kind of got to try to do what I do and let the goalies do their part and don’t try to not let that part affect my game, but yeah, they’ve they’ve been unbelievable the whole year. You’ll be busy obviously during the break, but how important is it to close out these last few tomorrow or Thursday’s game? One more left, obviously you want to finish on the right note, obviously and. Yeah, I I talked about it this morning a little bit and just try to keep my focus. Obviously a lot of exciting stuff coming up and just, you know, got to take care of the business here first and then I enjoy that part, but yeah, I just try to keep my focus and. Uh, do my job. What can you say about the dramatic finishes you guys have had the last couple of games, your overtime goal, the big comeback, and then tonight? Yeah, I mean, I don’t know. I mean, we’ll take the wins any way we can, right? And, uh. I don’t know. Sometimes the game goes like that and like I said, that’s what we’re trying to do here is win hockey games and get some points and get us to the playoffs, and as of late we’ve done a pretty good job on that. So, just keep on going. What’s working for you in this line right now? I’m playing with two really good players, obviously. I like when we skate. Obviously we can all skate. We can, you know. Battle hard, score goals and make plays. So just. You know, Playing good hockey as a line, I think, and also trying to not give them too much. Obviously that’s kind of the mindset we have here and not to give them anything and kind of wait for your chances and trust your skill that it will take over eventually and it’s been good. We know what Giordo has meant to this team over the last decade plus. Offensively now scoring key goals, contributing on the power plays, it’s good to see him get that kind of recognition too? Sure, he does a lot of things for us obviously and that’s, I mean, of course you want to see everyone score and feel good about their games and obviously he’s been scoring some big goals as of late for us and the whole year I guess, but yeah, I don’t think. It really change how he plays, whether he scores or not, but yeah, it’s obviously it’s great to see him on the scoresheet and he earns those goals. I was just going to say he’s taken everyone’s power play time too now, right? Yeah, big shot right now. Do you daydream at all about what’s to come, and if so, I mean, what do you look forward to the most about the Olympics? Yeah, I mean, it’s hard not to, right? I mean you get asked about it a lot right now and you know I’m going to go home now and pack all the stuff and so obviously you think about that stuff. Whatever it is. Uh, you just, you know, you’re so excited about it and you’re, you’re like. I don’t know. I don’t, I don’t even know how to describe it, but I’m trying not to think about too much, just to try to just take care of the business in New York and go from there. Thanks Sebastian. Good luck. Good luck if we don’t smoke over there. Yeah, good luck.
