Don’t even think about it. Next game tomorrow.
These SoCal teams are driving me nuts.
Here is what I must refer to as “Highlights”
Game Notes
Your TOI Leader was Brandon Montour, who played 24:14 tonight.
The Second period was a nightmare for the Kraken; the Ducks just completely outclassed them for 20 minutes in the middle of this game and Seattle could not meet their hustle today. You couldn’t even blame the penalty kill for this one; there were just some sequences where the Ducks were flat out better and especially flat out better than Grubauer tonight. They managed to avoid a shutout, but it was too little, too late.
Jacob Melanson threw an elbow at Troy Terry to end that miserable period, earning him a game misconduct and a mass pileup of angry players. He earned a game misconduct for that boneheaded play. I’m fine with a little post-period scrum to vent frustration but leading with the elbow is just dumb, man. You’re probably gonna get a stern talking to and a suspension for that and you will deserve it.
Chandler Stephenson had another game to forget tonight; He played the most out of any forward and the Ducks had 11 scoring chances against while he was out there. Maybe wanna pare back some of those minutes, Lane.
What is it with the Kraken and struggling to score on teams that are giving you ample ice? Is it just the jitters of not having to work for it all the time? Confusion? Take some shots in the middle, boys!
Philipp Grubauer put up an .871 SV%, and while I’m not gonna pin the blame entirely on him given the effort his skaters were putting up, the final Anaheim goal was just icing on the cake of a very bad night; He was struggling with keeping position a lot during this game and the Ducks feasted on that.
Oh well. LA tomorrow.
Was there anything good about this game?
Sure.
Jordan Eberle got his 20th goal of the season tonight off a tip in from a Jared McCann shot. Congrats to him!
Tye Kartye also ended up notching a goal on getting a late turnover and a great shot through Dostal!
The Penalty Kill went 3-for-3! That’s pretty impressive given where it’s been lately and how self-inflicted it was in this game specifically!
