The St. Louis Blues traded veteran forward Nick Bjugstad to the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday ‍for forward Thomas Bordeleau and a conditional fourth-round draft pick in 2026.

Bjugstad, 33, had six goals and seven points in 35 games in his first season ‌in St. Louis. The Blues ‌signed him to a two-year, $3.5 million contract last July 1, and he can become an unrestricted free agent after the 2026-27 ​season.

The Florida Panthers selected Bjugstad with the 19th overall pick of ‍the 2010 draft. He ​has 337 career points (163 goals, ​174 assists) in 795 regular-season games and ‍eight points (six goals, two assists) in 27 playoff games.

Bordeleau, 24, did not play for the Devils after being obtained in a July 2025 trade ‍with the San Jose Sharks. He signed a one-year, $775,000 contract with New Jersey and ‍can become ‍a restricted free agent ​after this season.

Bordeleau scored two ​goals ⁠and eight points in 35 ‌games this season with Utica of the American Hockey League. He had 18 career points (six goals, 12 assists) in 44 regular-season games with San Jose from 2021-25.
